Background Info.
Blender is an excellent 3D modeling, rendering, and video editing program among other things. One of its best features is that is completely free and open source. It will run on Windows, Linux, and MacOS. It is available on all of the school desktops, the classroom LAN, and there is also a portableapps.com version to install on the school laptops if necessary.
For this project students will use Blender to create a 3D model and rendering of a Jack O' Lantern. To assist students I have found two excellent tutorials online:
Content Rubric
- FIRST NAME and LAST INITIAL only in bottom right corner of final render. [5 Points]
- Student creates a 3D modeled pumpkin that is carved as a Jack O' Lantern. [10 Points]
- Demonstrates significant investment of time and effort. (Subjective) [20 Points]
Process Rubric
- File name is lastname_firstname_will_it_blend01 [5 Points]
- File format is Blender (.blend) [5 Points]
- Students must RENDER their completed project and save it as .PNG or .JPG [5 Points]
- Due Date: Blender project (.blend file) and rendered image (.png or .jpg file) submitted to Focus by 11/04/2019 at 11:59PM. [25 Points]
